Friday

Friging thing.

Ok. You already had your nice dinner, and you have some left-over food. "I'll put them in the refrigerator.", you might think. That is correct. But do you know there are things you should consider before putting food in the frige?

First, you will need to warm it up if it is a soup-kinda-food. Warming will make it "last longer". Put it on a heat-safe container, close it and warm it up until it boils. The reason to close the container is to make it boils quickly, so you won't waste time and heat-energy. After that, put it on a safe place (out of reach from your cute little children, of course) and let it cool down. Why? This is the reason.

“Make sure food has cooled down before you put it in the fridge,” says Philippa Hudson, senior lecturer in food safety at Bournemouth University. “If the food is still hot it will raise the temperature in the fridge, which isn’t safe as it can promote bacterial growth.”.
